BETTY BROWN SCHOLARSHIP FUND APPLICATION GUIDELINES
SCHOLARSHIP:
Financial assistance for course fees, educational resources, workshops, conferences and associated expenses.
ELIGIBILITY:
Available to female students requiring assistance for tertiary education in the fields of agriculture, medicine, or dentistry. If no females apply, an application from a male will be considered. Previous recipients may reapply.
CRITERIA:
Applicants must:
- Provide documentary evidence of attendance at one or more of the Department of Education WA schools in Darkan, Kojonup and Wagin.
- Provide documentary evidence of enrolment and / or details of the course/training from an educational institution which must be recognised by the BBSF Board.
- Demonstrate:
a) How student endeavour and achievement will build capacity and career advancement in field of agriculture, medicine or dentistry.
b) AND how the scholarship achievement will contribute to a rural community. (Letters of support from relevant sources as well as extracts of current results may be included in hard copy with the application). - Provide at least two referees.
- If successful, permission to use general details (no personal information) and a head and shoulder digital colour photograph for use in publicity and marketing.
AMOUNT:
Up to $4000 x three scholarships.
DURATION:
One calendar year or one short course only (applicant may reapply).
CLOSING DATE:
All Applications and enquiries must be uploaded to the website ___________________ by 1st November 2024.
NOTIFICATION:
Applicants will be advised of the outcome by November 1, 2024. Successful applicants will be publicly announced in BBSF promotions and marketing.

Currently the maximum amount of each scholarship is $4000.
The Betty Brown Scholarship Fund makes each scholarship as a gift and does not receive any material benefit in return for the payment. In making a gift there is no provision of consideration and consequently the donation does not constitute consideration for a taxable supply and GST should not be applicable.
The Scholarship can be used for tuition, course costs, living expenses, etc
Scholarship applicants will be notified eight weeks after the close of the scholarship round whether they have been successful or not.
If the scholarship cannot be awarded to a female applicant, the scholarship will be opened to male applicants.
